Xilinx printer issue

Xilinx 8.2.03 won't let me print (a schematic or verilog code).. I'm running Fedora 5(recent update). Error message states that default printer has not been selected. I tried echo $PRINTER=printer,
sytem returns printer as default printer. Other native apps print fine. Cups test page prints fine. Printer is PSC 750. Im using the recommended driver. Printer queue is "printer". I also have Xilinx installed on VMware server 1.01 using Win2k pro. I can'r get VMware to print to the usb printer. I need to get one of these working. Would prefer to fix native Xilinx. Kudos to any one who can help.

I'm using Fedora 5. I get the
error message to set default printer.

Printer: PSC 750
The print queue is 'printer'
It is locally connected.
The printer is shared
Printer configuration shows 'printer' as default
/dev/usb/lp0
print driver: hpijs
Updated Fedora 5
Cups was updated

These are the commands I used:
export PRINTER=printer //no errors
echo $PRINTER //returns 'printer'
/opt/Xilinx/settings.sh //no errors

Xilinx still returns 'set default printer' error

Any help would be awesome. If you can help me, I'll
post the solution to Fedoraforum.org to help others
Thanks

[root@point ~]# lpstat -d
system default destination: printer
yet xilinx still refuses to print. I've looked at the few things I've found on this and nothing helps. Any advice would be honored and cherished.

(A prayer for Guru assistance)
Oh Linux Guru, Oh Linux Guru, hallowed be thy name. Save me this day, for I hath rejected Windows. Yea though Redmond code do still course through the gates of my machine, I will fear no evil. For I nolonger dual boot, The beast being banished to VM. And behold I saw a man who's initials were B.G. and I laughed, for the Linux 3d desktop was here. Blessed shall be those who do not purchase Vista, but instead go opensource and buy hardware.
