Fedora Core 6 Audio Device found unable to playback

Hi everyone,

i am using linux for a almost 2 years, but i am still a newbie to linux, i recently installed Fedora core 6 on my new desktop. the pc is an intel based one my probelm is that the audio device has been correctlly detceted by the OS it is intel 82801 gb ich7 but i am unable to play back music. i am runnig alsa 1.2 which comes default with FC6 will i be able to play back if upgrade it to 1.3. any help will be appreciated.
