line feed

one question.how can dos read the files which has only lf at it's end.Well I use notepad2 and have changed the line endings to that of unix.But Dos easily reading them out.A line feed and also a carriage return is appearing

I mean see like this
In windows

checkCFLF
checkend



Using notepad2

checkLF
checkend

I thought dos should have shown the just above like this

check
checkend
only new line you know not carriage return

but in my case it is showing
check
checkend

as normal


Is it ok??????
