acer aspire 5600 soundcard

hi,i need some help configuring the audio device of acer aspire 5600 in FC6.

I also have a acer aspire 5600 AWLMi with the Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller. I got it to work under fc6 test 3 by downloading and installing alsa driver and untilities ver alsa-driver-1.0.13. But now that I install the final release of fedora core 6 I can get any audio. I now get an error message when I login:

Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such file or directory)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

Also when I try to start alsamixer I get:
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device

Is this the same errors you are getting? if so I hope someone can help us.

in this site http://www.sheepeatingtaz.co.uk/blog/2006/09/18/laptop/ acer aspire 5601 awlmi reffers to has Realtek 883...i'm getting confused......

also the realtek 883 soundcard is not listed in the supported alsa devices.......HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!! (i'm getting mad...)

The laptop I have does not have the Realtek sound card. I think aspire 5601's comes with different chip sets. What OS are you running?
