Thumbs down DVD weirdness in FC6

I just got done wrestling with this beast to get it installed. Nvidia weirdness (the wrong kernel arch is installed by default) was bad enough. I got that working. Now, however, I cannot mount any DVD type media (DVD-R, DVD-ROM, DVD movie). But I can mount CD-R, CD-ROM.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

I tested it with the actual FC6 install DVD. I can read the disc in Ubunut Edgy, WinXP but not FC6.

Any ideas?
