fc5: adding file system

Hello?

I would like to add another file system
residing on a separate hard drive in the
same system.

How can I do this graphically in GUI?

Let's say the file system I am trying to
add is NTFS.

I've read some where in this forum that
mounting NTFS is "experimental" in FC5.

But, in SuSE 8.2 professional, this NTFS
detection is automatically done after the
installation setup.

Thank you.

Hi daverj,

Thanks for your nice tips.

So, it appears that FC5 doesn't automatically
detect and configure ntfs unlike the older SuSE 8.2.

By the way, is there some GUI tool as in SuSE 8.2
where you can explore available partitions and drives
and mount those in FC5?

i use the captive-static experimental project:

http://www.jankratochvil.net/project...c-1.1.7.tar.gz

from jan kratochvil.
Works very well, maybe you will need to find ntfs.sys and ntoskrnl.exe to complete the install....at least i need it to mount raid0 ntfs partitions.

Works nice with Kwikdisk (using Fuse)

hope it will help.
