Unhappy FC5: Kernel update caused FTP problem

I am experiencing a strange problem. After upgrading the kernel on my FC5, I can no longer connect to a certain FTP-server (ProFTPD 1.2.10rc3). No matter what means of connecting I use, no connection is made. Other FTP-servers work fine.

Is this a known problem? Is there a solution?

The last known kernel that worked for me was 2.6.17-1.2139. Unfortunately yum has now erased this kernel from my system so I can no longer revert to this version. And I can't seem to find a RPM for just this version.

Is there an archive where I can find this specific version so I might continue working?

Thanks in advance for any help

/S

If you have not cleaned the yum cache, the rpm should still be in /var/cache/yum/*/packages/. You could then install it directly from that rpm.

That was my first thought. But then I remembered that I had cleaned the cache only days ago. :-(
