Installing Fedora Core 4 on a Dell PowerEdge 1950

I am trying to install Fedora Core 4 on a Dell PowerEdge 1950. The installation fails because it is unable to locate the hard drive. Has anyone gotten Core 4 to install successfully on a 1950?

thanks,
John.

That's a pretty specific question, on pretty specific hardware.

What hard drive(s) do you have? SATA? (P)ATA? Do you have a filesystem already on the drive that you are trying to preserve and just add in Linux?

EDIT: Ahhhh... rack mount server. Let me see what info I can google up.

EDIT #2: This is a Linux-compatible device. Dell even factory-loads various Linux flavors on it, at customer request. Bad hardware?

They are the new SAS (serial attached scsi) drives. These are brand new servers - no existing filesystem. Thanks for your help.

regards,
John.
