I have been trying to get my grahpics card (inside of my laptop) working for a little while now (without success). At first i tried to use the guide at
www.fedorafaq.org and what that did was after the drivers were installed, he wanted me to do init 3 and configure them from text. well the init 3 for some reason didnt work, so i thought that i could jsut reboot, and if the display didnt work i could just configure them from text mode, but my computer would crash out durring the boot process and i had to re-install fedora.
After that i downloaded the driver pack from ATI's web page, and i installed them using the guide for the automatic install. The install went along pretty well, i didnt get any error messages. then at the last step of the install guide it says
"Launch the Terminal Application/Window and run /usr/X11R6/bin/aticonfig --initial to configure the driver. "
when i tried to do that command, i got an error message saying that either the file or the directory (im not sure what anymore) didnt exist. So i rebooted the machine again, and it took about 10 minutes to load up gnome, and when it did, i could not have more than one app open at once, and i could not minimize or maximize programs, and too add on even more problems, i couldnt cut and paste from one program to another (cut, then close one, then open another then try to paste wouldnt work).
Can somebody hep me??
