I've run FC4 and FC5 on that chip. I don't remember much about FC4, but FC5 had both a regular kernel and an SMP kernel (symmetric multiprocessor (i think)). It worked just fine. FC4 is now legacy. Are you going to update to FC5 or possibly FC6 (in a few days 12 Oct '06)?
FC6 does not have separate kernels for regular and smp processors. It determines what is in the machine when it boots (i believe that is what happens, or it makes that decision when it installs -- don't recall exactly). I am running FC6T3 and it runs very smoothly.
I'm using 32-bit. You might want to check the threads on difference between 32 and 64 bit in reference to apps etc.
