I was able to get it ok, the file URL is:

ftp://ftp.aztech.com/download/modem/um9100/linux.zip

it downloaded as a zip file with these contents (running unzip -lv linux.zip ):

unzip -lv linux.zip

Did you read and follow "installation" in the file Release Note 2.9.8.txt? Also note the Kernel requirements and "ready to use" kernel source package as indicated you need.

Waiting only two minutes between posts will get you nowhere in a quick hurry. Most of us check this forum when we get a chance. For some that means a couple times an hour but for a lot of people it is once a day.

you need kernel-devel packages

the src package is for building a new krenel
the devel package is used for building driver

OK, Atari. Here's your help... But you're probably not going to like it.

1) If source code gives you the willys, (it does me too!) Don't mess with it.
2) Follow the law of diminishing returns. Sounds to me like it's long past time to ditch the aztech um9100 (or send it back to whence it came) and start with a proven performer.
My weapon of choice would be the external ZOOM V.90 Faxmodem Series 0269. If you need an internal, the Zoom/FaxModem 56K PCI Plus Model 2920.

Everything you need for drivers is built into the stock default kernel. No need to screw around with compilng anything!

As near as I can see, that is your "best practices solution".

Call for details:

Good Luck,

And have fun.
