setting the resolution to 1280x800

Hi,
I have a lenovo n100 with Intel integrated 950 card.
I've read several threads about this issue, but with no luck.
I've set the monitor to be "LCD panel 1280x800" and to use i810 driver, changed my xorg.conf to :

Quote:

# Option "Xleds" "1 2 3"
# To disable the XKEYBOARD extension, uncomment XkbDisable.
# Option "XkbDisable"
# To customise the XKB settings to suit your keyboard, modify the
# lines below (which are the defaults). For example, for a non-U.S.
# keyboard, you will probably want to use:
# Option "XkbModel" "pc102"
# If you have a US Microsoft Natural keyboard, you can use:
# Option "XkbModel" "microsoft"
#
# Then to change the language, change the Layout setting.
# For example, a german layout can be obtained with:
# Option "XkbLayout" "de"
# or:
# Option "XkbLayout" "de"
# Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys"
#
# If you'd like to switch the positions of your capslock and
# control keys, use:
# Option "XkbOptions" "ctrl:swapcaps"
# Or if you just want both to be control, use:
# Option "XkbOptions" "ctrl:nocaps"

as I make any changes and reboot, X server is not started automatically, instead I get a text mode login.
After I login I use 915resolution , and change one of it's entries to 1280x800 24, After startx i get the desktop in black&white , the desktop itself occupies ~3/4 of the screen left to right and on the remaining 1/4 i see a part of my desktop kind of clonned, as I move the mouse I can see it move on both parts.
I've took a snapshot of the screen, after restoring the original xorg.conf and reboot, i was in 1024x768 again, but the snapshot was ok (showing the desktop normally) and was an 1280x800 image.
Is there anyone who encoutered this or knows what needs to be done in order to get 1280x800 normally?
Thanks.
