grub after installing

Hi
I just installed 32bit-FC5 from dvd.I bought, I read and to some way studied the steps provided in
http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/fedora...fc5/index.html

the steps the dvd walked me through are not exactly the same as the link above, never the less, I was able to reach the point where it took 20min or more to install the OS at which time I went to take a nap at 3am. I came back in 30 min. to find the system installed and all, asked me to boot, I did but did not find the options I used to see on the grub menu I used to have before the installation. I did not answer any Yes to installing bootloaders or any thing to that effect.

My old grub screen had options which are not on the new grub screen.
My system is as follows.
- hda0 had windows
- hda1 has FC5
- hdb has debian with 2 kernels

how can I have one grub menu for all the OSs on my box instead of 2 and update that one to do handle all of the OSs here?

thanks

Sure, you can only use one grub menu. I take it that the hdb has a grub right now? If so, just go there and print off the menu.lst or grub.conf from that one and then input it into your FC grub.conf. Make sure you change the hd info to have it boot correctly. If Windows is now on (hd0,0) and Fedora is on (hd0,1), then your debian distros will be on (hd1,something).

Conversely, if you want to boot from the debian grub, reverse the procedure.

Edit: Actually, grub takes up relatively little space, so I personally have it installed on both hda and hdb and can swap the drives around in the BIOS to boot it all from either grub. That way, if anything ever happens and I lose one, I've still got the other to work with.
