Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Music Sound Card

Hi all,
I want to install Linux, but when i went to do I found I had no sound (Fedora 5). Some digging found that there currently were no drivers for that card...has this changed at all in recent months, or am I still out of luck.

Hello:
From :http://opensource.creative.com/

News:

May 18, 2006 -- Creative plans to make proprietary (closed source) drivers available for the X-Fi series of sound cards in the second quarter of 2007. These drivers will have full support for ALSA (playback, recording, mixer, MIDI, synthesis) and OpenAL 1.1 (with EAX effects).
So as far as I am aware there is no current support?
I guess you could email creative and see if anything has changed?

Hello:
Yes, I can imagine
I have one nice X-FI card sitting on the shelf waiting....
Until then, the on-board will have to do.
