Always launch application on a particular screen

Hi all, I wonder if someone can point me in the right direction. I am running FC5 with an nVidia GeForce 6600GT graphics card. I currently have two monitors attached and have configured them using twinview to give one desktop across both displays. This all works fine

What I want to do now is to move the machine into the study and have one screen on the desk (NEC LCD) which I can use as normal and use the TV on the wall in the sudy (which has DVI so will connect fine to the card) for showing films, DVD's etc..

Can someone suggest the layout that I should use so that whenever I launch MPlayer, XINE etc it starts on the TV while leaving me free to work on the other screen? I have read a little creating about multiple X sessions but I'm not sure this is the best way to do what I want. Perhaps there is a way of "forcing" applications to start on a specific screen, I really do not know.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards
Paul

You mean to have the app launch to specific coordinates of the desktop.

Look here

Here is an example start-up script for a dual-independent display (that is, on in which you specify either DISPLAY=:0.0 or DISPLAY=:0.1):

# Applications on the left monitor
export DISPLAY=:0.1
evolution&
xchat&

# Applications on the right monitor
export DISPLAY=:0.0
firefox&
gnome-terminal&
gaim&

# Make startup.sh executable:

chmod 744 startup.sh
