Canon PowerShot A610: impossible to download from on FC5.

I try to use photo camera Canon PowerShot A610 with my FC5 with no luck.
I tried to use it with gphoto2 as I did with - A85 canera but it says 'camera is not operationable' although it recognizes it. The camera is working as it did under MS windows...

So I tried to download the latest gphoto2 - that I didn't find in FC5-update repositary so I've downloaded it from its maker site. It required in its turn libgphoto2. All are in tar.gz. So I tried to compile it myself but was disappointed with libgphoto2 having this error:

print-camera-list.c:741: warning: implicit declaration of function
‘gp_log_add_func’ print-camera-list.c:741: error: ‘GP_LOG_ALL’
undeclared (first use in this function) print-camera-list.c:741: error:
‘debug_func’ undeclared (first use in this function) make[3]: ***
[print-camera-list.o] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory
`/pub/tmp/1/libgphoto2-2.2.1/packaging/generic' make[2]: ***
[all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory
`/pub/tmp/1/libgphoto2-2.2.1/packaging' make[1]: *** [all-recursive]
Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/pub/tmp/1/libgphoto2-2.2.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2

All compilling tools are upgraded to the lates versions took from FC5-update repositary. I guess I have to tune compiler some way to make the program but do not know how.

In any way in case the situation is out of solution, may there other tools that do the downloading working with FC5?

Any suggestions are much appreciated as camera is necessary to me daily.

I don't konw if you can configure that camera to work as a disk device, that way fedora will recognize it as an usb drive, then cut and paste.

I have done that way with a HP and a Nikon (somewhere in setup, usb...).

Or maybe you can use Picasa.

I hope it helps.

Is it the FC5-way solution?

The question was: HOW TO COMPILE THE SOURCE UNDER FC5 or WHAT THE TOOL THAT CAN DOWNLOAD FROM CANON A610 AND YET WORKS UNDER FC5.

PS Please, read carefully.

My Canon A610 works with KDE partially: I can download still photos and movie clips less than 16Mbytes. Movies more than that are detected but can not be downloaded. Now I have downloaded newer gphoto2 and libgphoto sources... I'll try to compile and check if it works...

No, something is wrong... I could compile libgphoto2 only after some modifications of #include directives, and even after installation of libgphoto2, compilation of gphoto2 failed...

Anybody knows the solution?
