FC6 test2 gives YUM/YUMEX error about elfutils-libs conflicts elfutils > 0.122-3.fc6

I am a newbie so this may be a dumb question. I have scoured google and do not see answers to this that seem to apply to this situation.

For the heck of it, I installed FC6 test2 last night (yes...I realize it is a beta....its just fun to mess with). I have run into a problem doing YUM or YUMEX updates. They croak when they get to something about elfutils.

Preparing for install/remove/update
--> Preparing for install
--> Preparing for remove
--> Preparing for a partial update
--> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please wait.
---> Package elfutils.i386 0:0.123-1.fc6 set to be updated
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Conflict: elfutils-libs conflicts elfutils > 0.122-3.fc6
--> Processing Conflict: elfutils-libelf conflicts elfutils > 0.122-3.fc6
--> Finished Dependency Resolution

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Arch

Hello:
You can use yum --exclude=elfutils update
or if you use yumex then remove elfutils from the queue before you process.
this should allow you to update .

You can also run the yum.sh program from here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Tools/yum (Tips & Tricks) that will only install packages without dependency problems. I'd suggest signing up for the Fedora-Test-List mailing list to see if there are comments and suggestions for dependency issues: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Commun...4f8b5422510668

I've got a perpetual bugzilla on sysfsutils dependency and I'd suggest that if the mailing list doesn't provide you with a quick fix, bugzilla's the way to go: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/index.cgi

As you'll find out, there are a ton of daily updates, kernels and breakage... but it's gonna be a great version once it's done and a lot of fun to play with in the meantime.
