Well yes and no. Yes it uses the video card I plugged in as the default. However, when I'm on Windows (grooossss, I know), XP is able to recognise both and use both for a dual screen desktop. This makes me think "hmm, if Windows can use both cards, certainly Linux can."

The
HP Support Site tells me it's an Intel something. The chipset name is "Intel i810E." The link has more information. Scanpci tells me "Intel Corporation 82810E DC-133 CGC [Chipset Graphics Controller]" for the video card information. It's on PCI:0:1:0. The nVidia Card is on PCI:1:11:0. Scanpci can see both of them so maybe it's not disabled? I'm not sure.
