When I got home from work this morning there were 14 or so updates ready to be implementedt....I did. heh heh couldn't login as anything except root. Bummer.
I had no selinux on FC1 and didn't want it on FC2x2 either, not yet. This mornings updates included some packages that were need as dependencies so I grabbed them along with the regular updates, they were to do with selinux. To make a long story short I added "selinux=0" without quotes to my grub.conf and all is back to normal now.
