Recently upgraded to Beryl 1.3 and everything now works as it should.
Found that endcaps and skydomes are very size dependent, endcaps 1024x1024 pixs and skydome 2048x1024 pxs.
I have an Nvidia card and seems that you can't get water to work with Nvidia cards, no big deal when everything else works so well.
Have been torturing for it five days now and only had a few problems which were quickly remedied, and have not occurred again, by quiting Beryl restarting x and then restarting Beryl.

How? Yum reports only version 0.1.2 of Beryl.

Okay, discovered how. I had to reinstall beryl before updating to 0.1.3.
Just tried it, and still my windows have no title bar OR border. Reloading the window manager doesn't help. Compiz doesn't help either (of course, I have not touched Compiz since I last reported my problem).
Am I just doomed to not have desktop effects under Fedora?

"um install --enablerepo=fedora-xgl gltiz-glx libsvg libsvg-cairo
yum install --enablerepo=fedora-xgl xorg-x11-server-Xgl xgl-hardware-list gset-compiz fedora-xgl-settings compiz"
commands i get an error saying something about an error opening repomd.xml. Anyways I have attached an image of my terminal with the error. Is there another way to install it?

If Water doesn't work with Compiz, then it won't work with Beryl either.

No need to reinstall, just restart X then make sure Beryl and Emerald are selected in your Beryl-manager, then reload window manager and window decorator.

Run this:
Code:
yum install libsvg libsvg-cairo glitz-glx
Then download & install these:

Tried a fresh install of FC6 on wife's system. Also installed Beryl. Beryl will not run at all. Goes into a total hang and only remedy is hard boot.
She has an S3 SavagePro KM266. Any one have any clues on setting this up for Beryl?

firewing, when i run the command "yum install libsvg libsvg-cairo glitz-glx" it only installs the glitz-glx and says there is no match for the others. I cant install some of the other things because they require these files.
here is the terminal shot.

If I log on locally, I can successfully enable desktop effects with a default install of FC6.
However, when I try to connect via VNC I cannot enable desktop-effects.
I'm thinking it has to do with a particular setting with vnc since it works when I log onto X locally.
When I try to run desktop-effects manually in a terminal in a vnc session I get:
compiz: No composite extension
Window manager warning: Log level 32: could not find XKB extension.
Window manager warning: Invalid WM_TRANSIENT_FOR window 0x0 specified for 0x380004f ().
I tried disabling composite effects by adding this to my xorg.conf
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Disable"
EndSection
but still no luck. Any ideas?

libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x42
Usage: grep [OPTION]... PATTERN [FILE]...
Try `grep --help' for more information.
