Run yum update and boot into the latest kernel to check if the problem persists, if it does, fille a bug report in http://bugzilla.redhat.com with the kernel version and other information.

Test release discussions are better done in fedora-test list

There is no error here. Yum just informs you that no updates are available. So file a bug report in http://bugzilla.redhat.com

As far as I know, the latest kernel is not the default one provided by FC6 test2.
I wanna update it by yum. It's frustrating that I cannot use yum to update and install things

p.s. RPM is another route I know. However, I am still a newbie:P

Hello:
Yum should work fine?
When you open a terminal and log in as root using
su -
password
type
yum clean all
then type
yum clean dbcache
then type
yum clean metadata

then do a
yum update

Sometimes yum gets (in lay terms) a bit confused.

The development tree kernel which you will get when you run yum update on a test release is the very latest git snapshot available. It is actually 2.6.18 tree. You can look at the changelog to know this.

when I run yum upgrade kernel
yum replies that no update is found.
