What is wrong with Fedora Developers?? - still no mptscsi driver

This driver, still present in FC4, was it completely removed or what??

I first this encountered this problem with FC5. I figured that it might be a mistake, maybe not many people actually use this driver...... So I was being hopefull for FC6 Test 1, assuming that it might have been a mistake indeed. So, I downloaded the DVD ISO. An guess what, doesn't even want to boot at all on the machine I had reserved for FC6.

Then I decided to wait for FC6 Test 2. Yesterday it was finally ready for download. And guess what ! Again the mptscsi driver was completely missing !!

Was this done on purpose, so that people using a LSI Logic adapter cannot run Fedora?? Every other self-respecting distro has no issues with detecting this adapter whatsoever ! Only Fedora..........

Does anyone have a clue why or have a way out ?

And, since you want to ask the Developers, here's the place: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Communicate They don't monitor our Forum, so your question here is not going to reach them.

Well i actually took it to the bugzilla part of red hat.

Either way, i was told that after FC4 the OLD drivers were replaced with a new one. Now obviously nobody seems to have had any issues, or nobody has bothered to make the developers at Fedora aware, because the response i got from them seemed to be a fairly surprised one.

Status? Well they are aware now, and the problem according to response probably lies in the kernel.

So all i can say is that i hope it'll all be, either fixed by the full release of FC6, or otherwise a rollback to the previous driver that actually does work!
