conexant AMC audio help

I am completely new to linux. I need help on getting sound to work in FC4. I have a Compaq Presario M2000 and conexant AMC audio, and i can not get it working.
added info: When I do the soundcard dection it reads:
Vendor: ATI
Model:Technologies Inc: Unknown Device 4370
Module:snd-atiixp
If more info needed ask.
