Suspend Broken After yum update

I just installed FC5 on my Dell Inspiron 600m. Very pleased in general. Out of the box, all but the wireless worked. After running 'yum update' the wireless now works, but I can no longer suspend or hibernate. With the initial install, suspend worked (splash screen and all), but now the screen just goes black for a bit and then the system resumes with the screen locked. When I reboot with the orgional kernel, suspend works but the splash screen is gone (just a plain box for password to unlock). Does anyone know a fix for this problem?
