Kernel Upgrade issue

Hi

Mine is FC4, Kernel 2.6
I use a ATI AIW 9000pro

All has been fine but not TV Tuner functionality

I downloaded the latest Kernel and followd the process to upgrade.

When I did "make modules", I got the following errors (seems like the TV tuner card) - Any advice? Thanks (see below the error messages):

Are you compiling your own kernel from source?
If so there is a bug in the DVB section of the 2.6.17.7 kernel. Not sure what but for now leave it out of your config.

Which version is it?
Just from the info you are compiling it correct? Not installing and rpm precompiled version?

Thats what I thought. Did the same thing over the weekend and got the same error. I just did not compile the DVB section since not having any of those boards in that machine. If you need one I would make it as minimum as can be. If still fails with what you need contact the deveolpers of that section and let them know.

If you use either ' make xconfig ' or ' make gconfig ' just go down the main table to the DVB section and uncheck it. Not checked or Dotted. Save and Exit. Run ' make ' and now it should finish the build from where it errored out.

I have 2 NIC cards - When I do ' make xconfig " under which option should I look for to make sure the right one is selected.

Do you mean for the 2 nics?
If so then select the same modules you are using now in older kernels.
