FC6-test2
I know that test2 was pushed back a little while, but that was some time ago. When is it expected to be released? I have looked and checked several mirrors!!!

I guess that the Fedora Weekly News of 7/24 and my News items are where it stands right now. As soon as Xen is working, things will happen.

But XEN isn't going to work.
It needs parts recoded to use real files systems and it needs to be on 64 bit to be worth anything.
I think we'll have zfs in Fedora before XEN works.
I think we'll have 2TB disk drives before XEN works.
I think Intel will makw quad dual core computers for $999 before XEN works.
I think I'll be a Solaris expert before XEN works.

Gee, SloJet, you had better contact Jeremy Katz then, 'cause he really thinks it will and he'll be disappointed to find out your news.
Quote:
With the update to a 2.6.18-rc based kernel, Xen requires some more effort to get to working. Given that Xen is one of the big features for Fedora Core 6, trying to ship the second test release (and thus the feature freeze) without Xen seems like a less than ideal situation.
Therefore, after discussion within the Fedora Board, we have decided to slip the freeze for test2 until Xen is working again with current kernels. Based on current estimates, it looks like this should hopefully be Monday, 24 July. We'll continue to provide updates as more information is available.

JK and XENSOURCES are not the coders of XEN source.
And JK message does not say what you inferred.
RedHAt has said XEn is not ready for prime time and will not be in RHLE5 and will be a separate package (maybe by December.)
Sorry for being too real on a Monday.

Huh? He is saying: "we have decided to slip the freeze for test2 until Xen is working again with current kernels". So, you're saying that somewhere else we have conflicting info? Can you point it out? And what about this:

I'm missing the point somewhere, but since I couldn't code my way out of a paper bag, I need some input here.

Things are slowly improving in terms of getting the Xen side of things merged up -- the only thing outstanding right now seems to be IO errors during guest installs. Progress is being made on it, so we'll hopefully be freezing and going from there real soon now.

Ah, I think I found the article that SloJet was referring to: http://news.zdnet.com/2100-3513_22-6100499.html - interesting read. Of course, we are pretty unstable around here, so.....
