Smile At last got et131x ethernet driver to work on LG M1 Express Dual...

I bought a LG M1 Express Dual in April and had checked everything I thought so I would'nt get eny surprises when installing Fedora 5, but I forgott to check which ethernet chip/card was built in. And to my surprise it was a from Agere Systems called et1310 revision 2 and the only driver I found was on a webpage:

http://dadams1969.googlepages.com/et131xkernelmodule

And it didn't work but recently a new version with patches was put up and I got it to work on first try. The archive is found at:

http://dadams1969.googlepages.com/et...2-3.src.tar.gz

Patch the sourcefiles and copy the et131x.ko to /lib/modules/<your kernelversion>/
and there you go...

I ave the kernelversion: 2.6.17-1.2157_FC5smp

I've got a LG P1 and the same problem, but when I type "make" I obtain:
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5smp/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [modules] Error 2

In an Ubuntu forum I've read the solutuion: apt-get build-essential linux-headers-686
but in Fedora doesn't works.

Thank you

Have you installed the kernel-smp-devel version 2.6.15-1.2054?

I'm running on kernel 2.6.17_2167 and get it to work.

Changed to Ubuntu

Finally, I've decided to change to Ubuntu, and I've installed the ethernet driver successfully.
Thank you anyway.
