Sound problem on FSC Amilo Pro V2065, Fedora Core 4

Hi there.
I've bought a new Amilo Pro laptop with Fedora Core 4 (not installed). After installation of the OS, I have encountered a problem: there's no sound at all - neither system sound, nor music. Sound Card Detection recognizes the sound device as "Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) High Definition Audio Controller" (which says nothing to me). This is the result which is shown in the program's dialog box; after trying to re-detect, the program says it was unable to recognize the device and the sound will not be avaiable. I tried to install ALSA driver (v. 1.0.11-47) (a solution for a similar problem, found somewhere) but it didn't work out (did not solve the problem). Since I'm a linux newbie, I don't know what to do. Can anyone help me with it?
thanks in advance,
Asgaroth

PS. Does anyone know, how to disable tapping?
