cant install kernel-devel
I get an error installing the kernel-devel rpm
the rpm -ivh kernel-devel(my kernel).rpm command works fine
but then I do the rpmbuild -bp --target=noarach /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.spec doesnt work
I get this error: failed to stat /usr/src/redhat/Build/kernel-2.6.spec: no such file or directory
what is going on?

Hello:
You can use whatever one that you like.
The 2054 kernel is the base one that came with the initial install of FC5..probably not the best kernel ever released.
Since you are going to recompile you should be fine with any of the available kernels.
Have a look here, which should help you as well : http://forum.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=29434

Well nothing worked, I installed the kernel source...then did the rpmbuild command, not sure if that worked I get alot of .config:2792:warning messages, and other stuff.
the kernel-devel rpm is installed, not sure what to do after I install the kenel devel rpm
I then run the nvidia driver .run file and I still get (after all this mess) the message: the kernel header file /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kenel-2.6.15//include/linux/kernel.h does not exist and I did do teh --kernel-source-path commandline option.
So I installed the kernel-devel the kernel source did the rpmbuild and ran the nvidia driver .run file with the --kernel-source-path option and still it didnt work, I think the kernel source didnt install? dont know, I am at a loss now,

Hey Seve, thanks for your help on this post and my other post. I disabled my nvidia network adapter and bought a linksys adapter and now everything is working in FC5 regarding my network. I should have done this a long time ago.
My problem is solved through a workaround
