Asus A8N-VM CSM and RAID 5

I have got an Asus A8N-VM CSM motherboard/Athlon 3500+ S939/1 GB DDR400; according to specs it should support RAID level 5, thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce 6150 + nForce 430. Before buying HDDs I would like to know if someone could effectively install FC5 on RAID level 5 with this Mobo.

My intention is to run a file server in such a box, and I need low-cost, hardware-RAID redundancy. I would also like to be able to boot directly from the RAID 5, if at all possible.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Not have this motherboard, but I have the same chipset (nforce 430). It's not good for linux at all. Sound is really bad and impossible to get to use ALSA. Networkcard is also not working instantly.
If I were you I would wait with buying a Nforce 430 chipset. It's the reason I quited with Linux since a few months. It just doesn't work good and gave me big headaches. If Fedora Core 6 is released I will try again. With Fedora 5 I had no luck.
I got sound and networkcard to work, but I wasn't satisfied with the sound at all (1 sound at a time...)
Also the networkcard gave me headaches at the end. I have to admit I found a solution for that already, because I had to use a static IP. If you reboot from Windows to Fedora with DHCP you have no signal.

The fact is that I already have this motherboard. As sound is crappy I was planning to dedicate it to a fileserver or backupserver. I tried centos server CD with it and there were no problems with the network adapter at all, but sound it creepy.
