Exclamation DNS Registration Question

Hi all. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I thought a DNS related question would be in the networking section.

Anyway, I'm starting an internet business that will provide online file storage and web hosting. Now I understand subdomains but how would I go about registering clients DNS names? I'm afraid I don't understand entirely how DNS names are registered and given out. Again, I apologize if this is a bit newbish, but it is a vital part of the services I am trying to provide for my future business.

Thanks for your time,
MicronINC.

Do a search for dyndns.com or noip.com

should find all you need there.

If you just want to register new DNS entries, just put more records into your zone file & tell BIND to reload it (via rndc or just re-start it :-).

If you want to register new *domains* for your customers, you've got a bit more work to do. First, find yourself a friendly registation agent...

It depends somewhat on exactly what you mean by "DNS names".

Thanks Vic. I guess I've got to look for a DNS registration agent. Its good that you caught my meaning by that horrible rambling I gave.

Cheers!

I guess what you meant is domain names. Just pay a domain name registrar (I heard bad things about GoDaddy...) to do it for your clients.
