Run As Root - KDE su after logon

hello all...
let me start off by saying im a complete linux newbie.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let me explain to you problem.

I wanted my soundcard's volume control to be controllable through the taskbar without having to use terminal and going through ALSAMIXER etc. And so i downloaded and installed KDEmultimedia as root through yum, which contains kmix and allowed me then to control my volume levels staright form the taskbar.

The problem is... whenever i log back in and startup KDE, I get a dialog box entitled "Run As Root - KDE su" which needs me to enter my root passwd to run a kmix command in order to load kmix. THis is quite a nuisance every time i logon, and was wondering what I could do/what kind of permissions can I give my account, so that i don't need to enter my root password to start up kmix every time I login.

thanks in advance!

I think I got kmix to run permanently by running it from a sheel as a normal user.

Therefore open a shell.

type: kmix

Jongi, I got it to work, however when i log out and log back 2 instances of KMix load up. One is the original one for root, and the other is the kmix which i ran from the shell. How can i get rid of the kmix which is attempting to run as root?

If you kill both applications and restart. Do you start with a kmix? If not then run as a normal user?
