installing fedora 5 on p3 dell latitude notebook

I am attempting to install fedora 5 over a debian/gnu shell only. i purchased the magazine with 5 disks from future. when i press endter at the graphical load menu i can watch the plaintext as it goes through a load process and then stops at : running /sbin/loader
it does not go any further from here. the computer is not frozen or locked up i can hear it working it is just not going any further. any one been through this before? or have any advice?

So, you never even get to the Media test to see if the CD's are good, right? I'd start with a fresh batch of CD's from either http://fedora.redhat.com/Download/ or http://torrent.fedoraunity.org/ The FedoraUnity site has ISO's that are kept current. If you can use bittorrent to do the download that might give you the most recent version.

i had figured that that might be my only recourse. just seems to bad since i paid 20 bucks to get the cds with the "magazine" thinking that would solve any problem i might have if i made a download or burning mistake. oh well i guess it's worth it for that cool penguin poster
