FTP with XBOX

I am trying to create a link between my XBOX and my PC which is running FC5 using a crossover cable. I think I got the network config right but when I use gFTP to connect to it, it gives me an error saying that it can't find 192.168.0.3 which is the IP address of the XBOX. Can anyone help me?

By the way I think that the gFTP program is trying to access the IP through my modem instead of through the network. Could this be the problem

Hello:
Dunno for sure [don't have an xbox], however you probably need to look at your /etc/hosts file to make sure that let the router (assuming you have one doing your dns resolution) know what 192.168.0.3 equates to?
add something like this to your /etc/hosts file to aid in the dns resolution
192.168.0.3 Xbox
Xbox 192.168.0.3

Thank You , but this didn't work either. I guess I will have to resort to using Windows to do this. Just when I thought I was out, Window pulls me back in.

Makes sense seen as XBOX is an MS product.

Perhaps they never made the API to hook it up to your comp understandable or its only easily do-able in MS Windows. Would not supprise me as this is acommon trait of MS. (refrence their EU case at the mo over their API).
