FC5 and Printer Driver Support

FC5 supports my printer---at least it's listed in the list of drivers in the printer setup area. I've set it all up as best as common sense tells me how but still no luck getting a test page to print.

I should tell you that the printer is cabled to a PC; PC is cabled to a router; my laptop with FC5 is cabled to the same router. When I attempt to print I get the following error message:

I [07/Jul/2006:19:21:32 -0500] Adding start banner page "none" to job 3.
I [07/Jul/2006:19:21:32 -0500] Adding end banner page "none" to job 3.
I [07/Jul/2006:19:21:32 -0500] Job 3 queued on "Epson" by "root".

I [07/Jul/2006:19:21:32 -0500] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip (PID 2740) for job 1.
I [07/Jul/2006:19:21:32 -0500] Started backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb (PID 2741) for job 1.
E [07/Jul/2006:19:21:32 -0500] [Job 1] Unable to open print file "/var/spool/cups/d00001-001" - Permission denied
E [07/Jul/2006:19:21:32 -0500] PID 2739 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstops) stopped with status 1!
I [07/Jul/2006:19:21:32 -0500] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to "debug" to find out more.
E [07/Jul/2006:19:21:33 -0500] [Job 1] Tree connect failed (NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME)
E [07/Jul/2006:19:21:33 -0500] [Job 1] No ticket cache found for userid=0
E [07/Jul/2006:19:21:33 -0500] [Job 1] Can not get the ticket cache for root
E [07/Jul/2006:19:21:33 -0500] [Job 1] Tree connect failed (NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME)
E [07/Jul/2006:19:21:34 -0500] [Job 1] Tree connect failed (NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME)
E [07/Jul/2006:19:21:34 -0500] [Job 1] Unable to connect to CIFS host, will retry in 60 seconds...

Now I realize that it pretty much says, "It ain't working" but what's next?

You have set up the printer as a networked (SMB) printer? First check your firewall settings on both boxes. You need to allow the hosts through the firewall. If no luck, give some more details.
