Rune

Hello, Ive been looking at this game and cant conclude if its native or not. Do any of you play this game? Do I have to go buy the cd? (its only $5) Or is it a free game now?

It says public source, does that mean it source code? Ive been reading on it and it seems it will play under WINE but is it native too? Hopefully one of you plays it and can answer my questions. Thanks.

Looks to me that the only thing available for Linux there is the server.

You may be able to d/l the demo and run it under Wine.

OK thanks, I wasnt sure about it. Apparently it will run fine under wine from what Ive read about it. Just wanted to make sure if it was free or not, and native or not.

If it's on the Loki games page, then for sure there's a Linux port

download the demo from here (scroll down)

And just to tell you, it works on cedega too

Hey Invader, now Im kinda confused. I checked out that Loki page and it looks like they sell it to run native. Do you think I could just buy the windows version and use a linux patch like Quake4 and get it running? And cedegas cool but it costs money, and since's a old game it should would under wine right? Acually after typing that I take it if I buy the windows version I install it through wine, or can it run natively with a patch cause it is a opengl game?

I believe the CVS version of Cedega is free...

I'm not sure if you can patch the windows version to make it into a linux game... nothing came up on google for me.

As for running it in wine... usually if cedega supports it wine supports it as well.

Thanks for the link Thetargos, thats a awesome site. I think Im gonna get a few games from there like X2:The Threat and Rune. I found some other sites but none of them had US prices. Any games you recommed, some of my fav. games are AA and Splinter CellT (for windows saddly) for the type of games I like.

I've browsed that site from top to bottom, and I seldom get tired of it... Granted there is not much of a selection of games you have there, especially compared to the Windows® game library, but there are some really nice and good titles there.

Yes, they are based in the UK (tuxgaming, that is). There are other German Linux games retailers, and France, and Spain (I think)
