[Solved] Removing Software

Just completed the install of FC5 and got things running just the way i want them to. Now i was just wondering which is the best way to remove unwanted software... such as GAIM??

anyone help me on this?

Sure, you should add and remove software using yum. It's as simple as 'yum remove gaim'. Check 'man yum' for details of how to use yum or check here: http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/yum/en/ Alternatively, you can use yumex, which is the gui version of yum. 'yum install yumex' will get it for you.

what about stuff like KSirc... Things that appear to have been installed along with KDE??? How can i remove them, because they dont show up in YUM

Yes, that's the problem! There's a lot of dependency out there, so don't be quick to remove something just because you aren't using that particular piece of software. Is your problem that you're running out of space or that you just want to unclutter your desktop?

i just want to remove the software that i am never going to use, of which alot of it was installed with KDE Kget Kmail Konquer etc...

Konqueror? This is the file manager in KDE. I don't know much about KDE but it seems not wise to remove it.

ok seems like the best thing to do then is leave it all installed, but ill hide it from my menus... tidy things up a bit! Thanks Guys!
