Stupid installation

I know I've done it before (in the distant past), but I can't remember how to install .run files for my life.

I downloaded alienarena, and I can remember how to install.

If I typ
Code:
./*.run
then it gives me a permission error (when I'm logged in as root).

Could someone help me out? Thanks a bunch

Okay, looks like you

su -

and then

sh /foo/bar/foobar.run

(i.e. the path to the .run file)

Then it starts a graphical installer. Nice.

um, I just used the install command like i said above. I don't know if you need to be root but I probably was.

Code:
install /home/user/Downloads/file.run
