FC5 and PCIe GeForce

Ok, so I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers to install my Geforce 6800xt (pci express), and to install them I can't have an X server running. I found a website that says to login as root, and then use the "init 3" command to kill my X-server and kick me into a terminal, where I can run everything.

Sometimes when I do this, my screen just blacks out and doesn't do anything.

Other times, however, my screen gives me a green OK on the first item, then on the second, it says:
"localhost kernel: drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: input >irq status -71 received"

It just hangs, repeating that message every 15 seconds. Any ideas?

Use yum to install the nvidia driver.
yum install kmod-nvidia

Ok, it goes partway through and then tells me "FATAL: Module nvidia not found."

Sorry for not knowing how to fix this, but what's the deal here?

Hello:
The PCI e card will work just fine. Follow the instructions here :http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_cor...es.html#nVidia
