two questions, both regarding Web Dev friendly software-- as related to the context of using KDE vs GNOME, and also those Software configuration files as setup under Root vs Default User:
Why am i using Root instead of Default User? because i setup root to run under KDE and default under GNOME.
Bluefish:
anything i've done in Bluefish, so far about 90% has been under Default User. I've customized that configuration along the way, as Default User-- but my Custom Menu items, Custom Quick Bar, and the Editor config settings such as "format for XHTML", etc. are all specific to Default User-- while i'm under Root, not surprisingly, those customizations are 'missing'. I'd like to avoid re-configuring now that i'm logged under Root-- so, is there a way to 'copy' the config file from Default User? if so, where do i find it, and what file should i over-write?
Kate:
KDE Text Editor: I like this editor-- it seems similar to Bluefish, and maybe i shouldn't fool w/ it since they are so close, but i'm one who likes to experiment w/ such things. so, while using Kate to edit some php stuff, i realize that there is nothing that jumps out at me a way to 'preview' the html / php / coldfusion files in a browser (unless i'm really blinded today). i see "export as html"-- not sure of the purpose, but it doesn't seem to do what i want for previewing, i'm pretty sure of that!
quick related question: should i have created another user for the KDE environment instead of simply using Root for KDE and Default as GNOME? or is it okay to utilize Root and Default in such a way as this?
thank you!
