Angry Can nvidia-glx not be installed parallelly?

OS: Fedora Core 4

I just upgraded the kernel to 2.6.16-2115 and went onto installing the nVidia driver from livna. Now, they have upgraded nvidia-glx from 1.0.8178 to 1.0.8762, and the latest kernel-module-nvidia requires 1.0.8762. That's all fine and dandy.

The problem is, running "yum install nvidia-glx" does not work - it changes "install" to "update," trying to overwrite the current 1.0.8178. Since 1.0.8178 is being used by the current nVidia driver, it means I must uninstall the nVidia driver for the current kernel (2.6.16-2111) first.

Sure, I can do that, but the problem is, I will not be able to switch back and forth between two (or more) kernels and use the nVidia driver anymore. I'd like to set up the nVidia drivers parallely just like I've been able to. How can I achieve that goal?

TIA,
Dai
