Question Computer's Hardware Identification

Can anyone tell me if there is a place in Fedora Core 5 that will tell me my computer's installed hardware (like video card, sound card, etc.) What I am looking for is something that might indicate what motherboard I have (something similar to Device Manager in Windows. First off, I am a newbie to Fedora/Linux, secondly, I installed FC5 on a computer that is totally forein to me as it was given to me about a year ago, it sat all that time because it needed a monitor which, at the time, I did not have. When I tried to fire it up, there was a user name and password to contend with. I could not get past that, so I simply downloaded FC5, burned to disks and installed a fresh, new copy. Previously the computer had FC1 on it. It has a very tiny HD (3.5Gb!!!). I am attempting to install a 40Gb hard drive, and the motherboard will not recognize. I am thinking it might need a BIOS update to support large HD.

Thanks in advance for any replies........I sure do like this new Fedora system!!!

Type them in the terminal. dmidecode requires root permissions.
