eliminate logs from acpi deamon

My disk space is filling up, my machine is little slow cause acpid is giving continious logs about thermal_zone events, which are not important. How can I disable this continious logging. I doesn't even let me read /proc/acpi/event cause it is busy. you think it is ok to disable the deamon for a little bit to attempt to change the file. it is little annyoing when you have to delte the log file at the end of the day cause of all the events.
thanks for your help.
