How to convert from ext3 to ext2?

I installed and configured fedora over the weekend (first time I've looked at linux since setting up my last server 2 years ago!).

Now that I've got everythting (almost) working as I want it, I've remembered that noflushd doesn't work with ext3.

Can anyone tell me how to convert from ext3->ext2 without having to reinstall/configure?

It is a matter of just removing the journal. However, I could not find any directions on if this can be safely done, or how to do it. Most of the google hits are the other way.

But if you need ext2 to use noflushd, I'd recommend sticking to ext3 and doing away with noflushd. Look at something like "hdparm -S" instead. ext3 really will give you *much* better reliability, particularly if you're running from an unreliable power source (like batteries!).
