SB Audigy 2 ZS sound issues

I've noticed that I'm getting intermittent sound issues with this card under FC5 in certain games.
Anyone know of any known issues or solutions?
basically what happens is the sound gets really fuzzy and sometimes it clears up after a bit, and sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't always seem to hit in the same spot or involve the same sounds or anything else.

It seems to make no difference ALSA or OSS they both give issues.
