MS Sidewinder

Hi,

How do I get FC5 to recognise my Sidewinder Gamepad?

I have read that I should modprobe joydev ...gameport ...sidewinder which does not produce any errors however in say BZFlag the Joystick option does not work, or any other game.

The Gameport is on an nVidia nForce2 board.

jstest /dev/js0 says no such device and cat /proc/bus/input/devices lists only my keyboard and mouse.

Mark

things must be looking up, here I am answering my own thread!

modprobe ns558
modprobe joydev
modprobe gameport
modprobe sidewinder

and to test

/usr/bin/jstest --normal /dev/js0

Works a treat, just need to add to /etc/modprobe.conf
