add and remove software - very strange

I installed FC5 suceffully without any error, run very fast :-)

But when I click "Add and remove software" from menu, the progress bar appeared
for a while then finnally a error message dialox appeared: ""unable to retrieve software information".

I installed again and clicked "Add and remove software" from menu, sam issue occurred.
I heared that when add or remove softwares, my FC5 box must have internet connection
active. But FC5 in my home not have internet connection though.

So could anyone give me a way to add or remove software even in case I have not
internet connection? Could you tell me in detail?

My spec: ASUS P5LD2-VM, sata 80GB, Ram 1GB DDRII, 945G express chipset.

Excuse me for messing in, but I have the same problem "unable to retrieve...", I have an internet connection, only through a proxy server. I suppose that's why I can't install any RPMs. But I didn't see any place where I could configure my internet settings.

Can anyone please tell me what am I doing wrong? I only recently installed Linux.
