gnome terminal vt220 terminal keyboard mapping

Hi guys:
I need help when I telnet to my company's Solaris 5.8 server. We have Oracle form and menu running on that machine. For some reasons, some certain key functions don't work in m y terminal side. I am running FC5 suing gnome-terminal to telnet to that server. I export TERM=vt220 after I log-in, but some keys are wrong-mapped at my side. I appreciate for any help. If this doesn't work, I will need to switch back to Netterm in Windows, but I do like the tabbed terminal in gnome.
Thank you for your help.
