Thumbs up Compaq Presario 2100

Well though most pages don't say so, YES FEDORA 5 WORKS!!! 8)

The first problem that you will recognize is the resolution not being able to go beyond 800 x 600.
Googled for a long time, didn't find anything relating to Fedora. Found a Red Hat forum and it says in 7.3 you have to adjust xorg, so here are teh instructions to get your full resolution on your laptop. Your monitor shouldn't really matter as all this does is add the proper modes and refresh to your system.

1. OPEN YOUR FAVORITE TERMINAL PROGRAM
2. GO TO /ETC/x11
3. USE AN EDITOR TO EDIT XORG.CONF
4. GO TO THE HorizSync LINE AND CHANGE IT TO
HorizSync 31.5 - 48.5
5. THEN CHANGE YOUR Modes LINES FROM
Modes "800x600" "640x480"
TO
Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
6. SAVE AND RESTART

~There ya go, the answer to a question I struggled with, if you want to knwo anything else let me know and I will do what I can.
