SATA-2 Support in Linux

Hi folks -

After having several failures getting my Adaptec SATA-2 controller to work with Linux, I've given up. I need to get another controller, and quickly. Does anyone have any experience successfully getting SATA-2 to work under Linux? If so, what controller did you use?

I'll take any and all suggestions. I'm somewhat desperate right now...

Thanks.

jas
